Today’s mission: Attended some inspiring talks at TGDF @tgdf.official

the speakers, both local and international, were absolutely brilliant 👍🏻

Also got to catch up with a few friends and chat about what we’ve all been up to.

As a rookie speaker myself, I’ll be giving an online session this year on Saturday, July 13 at 10:20 AM (Taiwan time) via TGDF’s official Twitch channel:

Feel free to tune in if you’re interested! 🙌🏻

Big thanks to TGDF for this opportunity 🙏🏻

My talk will cover “Aliisha: The Oblivion of Twin Goddesses – A Journey in Game Music Design.”

I spent a lot of time recording full gameplay footage, editing and categorizing all the interactive sound and music segments, and combining them with FMOD visuals. The whole presentation follows the game’s stage progression, with minimal text—letting the audience directly experience how music, through interactive design, delivers emotional depth and multi-layered storytelling.

Here are a few thoughts from today’s talks that really resonated with me:

🎙 Scott from @sigonogames

His sharing on translating terms like feng shui, dragon veins, and black dragon into English reminded me of how much effort we put into translating the lyrics of Aliisha’s main theme into English and Japanese. It really takes a lot of back-and-forth to find expressions that carry the same meaning in each language.

🎙 Jörg Tittel (RapidEyeMovers Ltd)

His talk was a beautiful reminder to stay in love with creativity—connect with people whose work inspires you. Even as behind-the-scenes creators, we have to stay healthy to sustain this kind of intense work. He even lost 16kg to stay in shape. That really hit home for me—honestly, one big reason I stay active is because just maintaining your past physical condition gets harder with age 😮‍💨

🎙 Professor Tai

Absolutely hilarious 😂 His AI use case examples kept the room laughing the whole time—from synthesized voices of Dharma Master Cheng Yen to Hsieh Long-jie.

Apparently, he usually gives super technical talks, but today’s session took a lighter tone (according to Madguy 😆)

🎙 Yama Orce (@cdpr_tc)

He shared his journey from artist to manager, and how strong leadership enables teams to deliver large-scale works while still making time for personal creative projects outside of work.

🎙 Paweł Sasko (@cdpr_tc)

He emphasized that what sets games apart from other media is interactivity. Designing choices, reviewing them, and shaping their multi-layered consequences is what makes games unique—and also what makes them incredibly challenging to create.

@sigonogames 的 Scott

Jörg Tittel

@cdpr_tc 的 Yama Orce

@cdpr_tc 的 Paweł Sasko
