Theme Song & In-Game Music | App Store Award Winner - Cultural Impact
I composed the theme song and all background music for《Do You Really Want to Know 2》a narrative-driven visual novel addressing HIV stigma, emotional isolation, and human connection.
The soundtrack was designed to reflect the protagonist’s emotional journey — from inner turmoil to healing — with a balance of subtle textures and melodic intimacy.
The theme song, co-written with lyricist Yi-Wei Wu and performed by actor/singer Wingle Chen, was structured to evolve musically with the character’s growth, mirroring his struggle to speak out and eventually seek support.
To support the game’s layered storytelling, I crafted adaptive scene music that blends into different narrative phases — fear, memory, confrontation, and reconciliation — enhancing emotional impact without overwhelming it.
《Do You Really Want to Know 2》was developed by Gamtropy in collaboration with the Taiwan AIDS Society. The game received the App Store Award for Cultural Impact in 2024, becoming the first Taiwanese game to earn this recognition.
